BACKSTORY THEATRE ACADEMY (BSTA)
Fall classes are here!
Preschoolers and almost-kindergarteners will delight in this exploration of fun theatrical movement, voice, and storytelling! Using songs, games, movement, and early reader's theatre style storytelling, our youngest performers learn to have control of their bodies, use their words, and build friendship. Students build confidence to act out stories and create characters through movement. Typically, parents are invited to join us in the studio on the last day of class for the last 30 minutes to see some of what the kids have been learning and to play along with some fun imagination and movement games! During COVID, classes are taught online using the Zoom platform and are designed to get young ones up and moving while staying engaged with the teacher.
Minimum enrollment 3, maximum 8.
Wednesdays - 1:30-2:30pm @ BackStory Theatre
This fall we're exploring the world of Pete the Cat by James Dean and using the book themes to learn new games, share, and play together!
Fall classes are here!
Online doesn't have to mean boring! Find the perfect performance class to enhance your skills in character development for ages 6-15!
BackStory Theatre Academy's fantastic performance-based programs build skills for performance, confidence, team work, and key STEAM learning skills such as active listening, working memory, and creative collaboration! During this unprecedented time of stay at home orders, social distancing for safety, and rapidly changing information, we are revising our usual summer programming. With shorter session times each day, small class sizes, and showcase performances during the last class. These changes will allow us to deliver the high quality content we promise while remaining flexible to offer each class either online or in-person depending on state and local recommendations. While classes are currently listed as studio-based, they will be moved onto a Zoom platform as necessary. We will do our best to communicate any changes to online with at least a week's notice when we have it.
AGES 3-8: CLASS THEMES ARE BASED ON SPECIFIC BOOKS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO AMEND OR BRANCH OUT TO INCLUDE MULTIPLE CHARACTERS AND IDEAS
