This 180-year-old story asks: Is it ever too late to change? Can one person make a difference? These questions matter just as much today as they did in Dickens's time.

Written by Charles Dickens in 1843, A Christmas Carol follows Ebenezer Scrooge, the grumpiest, most money-obsessed man in London. On Christmas Eve, he's visited by three spirits who show him his past, present, and future.

Our version, adapted by Charlie Lovett, adds in carols, deep journeys for multiple characters, more female roles, and offers multiple roles for many actors, from street urchins to wealthy Londoners.

We  hope to cast 15-20 actors in this classic show.

Auditions will be held  May 2nd, 2026

Callbacks will be May 3rd from 10am-12pm

at  BackStory Theatre

3400 Industrial Lane Unit 10D

Broomfield CO 80020

Actors will audition in group of up to 5.  Auditions will include a monologue (1 min) and some group improv work.  The same audition will be used for both Fairytale Theatre and A Christmas Carol, nothing extra is needed.  Actors will indicate on their audition form which show(s) they are auditioning for. All actors should arrive at auditions with a resume, headshot (can be informal), a list of potential scheduling conflicts, and be ready for some cold readings and improv!

Casting offers will be given by May 4 at 7pm.  A virtual parent meeting will be held from 7-7:30pm on Friday, May 8.
